One thought on “The Armada of Golden Dreams: Buried Ships Beneath San Francisco

  1. Interesting history, LJ. And great project. I come from a long line of fishermen stretching from Boston harbor to San Francisco bay that dates back to ancestors who fished the Mediterranean off the coast of Sicily. I heard some harrowing sea stories growing up and have a real appreciation for (and connection to) shipwrecks. In the fifties and sixties I attended a parochial school in San Francisco with the unlikely name of “St. Paul of the Shipwreck” just off Third Street in the Bayview neighborhood where I was born (and proud of it, too!). The school is now the Kipp Bayview Academy, but the church is still an active community. Thanks for posting..
